Please join us in our annual Pemsɨk Mawa’tasikl Anko’tmu’kl 21-day BioBlitz from July 5th - 26th, 2026!

During this time as you get out and explore the land and waters of the Pemsik Conservation Mosaic study area you can help document the rich biodiversity within this Mi’kmaq-led conservation vision.

Whether you’re walking through the woods, enjoying a fresh water space or exploring the coast where the land and ocean meet, we invite you to respectfully and safely observe, photograph, and record nature around you!

The study area (post to the left) - which takes the shape of Nukumi brings together terrestrial (green), marine (blue), and coastal (tan/sand) spaces to reflect Mi’kmaq understandings of how ecosystems are deeply connected.

So remember to submit your observations (photos/audio) on iNaturalist to be entered into the prize draw!

Prizes will be awarded for:

• The most remote observation (on land or water)

• The highest number of observations

• and more!
